Since 1957, Craig Builders has been a fixture in the home building industry in the Charlottesville area. Ask anyone that’s lived here for a few years about their reputation and you won’t hear a negative review and it’s clear why that is– they take care of their customers long after closing day.
This local, family-run builder takes great pride in their long and distinguished history of serving the needs of new home buyers. People buy from them because of their reputation for quality and for their willingness to customize their in-house drawn floor plans for each their homeowners.
They’re not the biggest or the smallest and serve a niche in the market called ‘semi-custom’. That means that they serve buyers who want to live in a community but also want a custom home, without the custom home price tag.
They have highly talented Customer Representatives for each community they build in that guide each customer from start to finish. They make it easy by being the main point of contact and are an incredible resource for each customer — their process has been refined over decades to ensure each customer has an enjoyable building experience.
At first glance, their prices are typically 5-7% higher than their competitors but don’t let this fool you. They include a lot in their homes that would normally be an upgrade so often times they are the best overall value, even though higher in price. From a resale perspective, if a customer makes wise decisions during the design phase (which I’m here to help you do), a Craig Builders home will often command a premium sales price over a similar home down the road when you’re ready to sell. A lot of that has to do with the curb appeal, the materials used, and a lot of the little things they do that the average buyer doesn’t even see.
One nice feature of Craig Builders is that they give each customer an exact move-in date upfront…and are known for completing the home before that date 100% of the time. Why is that important? It makes how we’ll plan your move that much easier and in a lot of cases allows you to choose the best time to move for you and your family.
If they are building something in your price range, Craig Builders should be on your list to consider. They also build a couple of custom homes each year. These are typically for someone who wants to build one of their plans (usually “The Newport” or “The Williamsburg”) on a homesite that they own or want to purchase nearby one of their communities.
