Millboro – Charming circa 1917 farmhouse on 13+/- acres nestled amid the rolling landscapes of the Allegany Mountains in eastern Bath County. The first floor of the comfortable residence has a welcoming country kitchen opening into a spacious dining room, living room, family room, pantry & half bath. The primary bedroom/bath are upstairs along with two additional bedrooms, a full bath & access to classic sleeping porches that capture mountain breezes. Many classic architectural details are in the house. Outdoors, a four-stall barn complements the open and wooded acreage. The Cowpasture River is nearby. The vernacular house was built for the Lowen Family, whose descendants settled in Bath County in the early 1800’s, by Ed Matherney. The dam at nearby Douthat State Park was built by a CCC crew led by Matherney. The current owners, who did significant work on the property in the 1990’s, are only the second family to own the property. This special offering blends rural charm, scenic beauty, and a lifestyle rich in history, nature, and abundant outdoor recreation - an ideal setting for a personal retreat, weekend escape, or legacy getaway.
